Hawaiian Koa Wood Hand Turned Live Edge Bowl
This is a Hawaiian Koa wood live edge bowl #604. With rounded curves and no foot, this deep brown curly Koa bowl reflects the unique and rich characteristics of the Koa wood. This Koa bowl is uniquely figured with soft tiger stripe swirls patterns. The beauty of its uneven top edge frames the beauty of the wood grain. Because of the scarcity of intact bark, handcrafted Koa live edge bowls are rare and hard to come by. This one of a kind handmade Hawaiian art piece is branded and numbered.
Dimensions: 7 3/4" Wide X 7 Deep X 3 1/2" Height, 1/4" Approximate Wall Thickness
This Hawaiian Koa wood live edge bowl was hand turned by KoaWood Ranch founder Craig Villarrubia. He was part of the entire process, from painstaking cutting the Koa tree down to preparing the branch and blank, before placing it on the lathe for shaping. The piece was finished with Danish oil and wax. Craig's work reflects a contemporary take on the traditional Hawaiian Koa calabash bowl.
