Hawaiian Koa Wood Turned Calabash
This is a traditional Hawaiian Koa wood calabash bowl #721. This piece stands at 2 1/4" high and approximately 7 3/4" wide. It has a traditional non-footed shape. This deep blonde and golden brown Koa bowl reflects the unique and rich characteristics of Koa wood. There is a nice spread of curls on the bowl and an exposed soft batch on the bowl as well. The Koa wood was harvested on the slopes of Mauna Kea, at KoaWood Ranch. This handcrafted Koa bowl will grace any home with the warmth that Hawaiian art and tropic decor brings to any environment. This handmade heirloom is unique, branded, and numbered.

Using Koa wood from the conservation, Craig painstakingly turned this wood bowl in the traditional Hawaiian calabash shape. The piece is finished with Danish oil and beeswax.
