Hawaiian Koa Wood Bowl Hand Turned
This is a Hawaiian Koa Wood natural edge bowl #767. With a beautiful curve and a gentle foot, this deep brown curly Koa bowl captures the spirit of the Koa tree. The beauty of its top edge beautifully frames the character of the wood grain. Because of the scarcity of intact bark and the added difficulty in creating these Hawaiian art pieces, handcrafted Koa live edge bowls are both rare and hard to come by. This handmade Koa wood heirloom is unique, branded, and numbered.
Dimensions: 5 1/2" Wide X 4 3/4" Height, 1/4" Approx. Wall Thickness
This Hawaiian Koa wood live edge bowl was hand turned by KoaWood Ranch founder Craig Villarrubia. He was part of the entire process, from painstaking cutting the Koa tree down to preparing the branch and blank, before placing it on the lathe for shaping. The piece was finished with Danish oil and wax. Craig's work reflects a contemporary take on the traditional Hawaiian Koa calabash bowl.
